EPW - James McEwan, Glasgow, gold repoussé verge fusee, 47mm, approximately 20K gold pair cases, inner bearing London hallmarks which are indistinct with wear but appear possibly for 1773, incuse casemaker's mark may be "T W," outer case with classical scene with four figures and animals, white enamel dial, fancy gilt hands, KWKS, verge escapement, square baluster pillars, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled asymmetrical balance cock, s#8183. Gross weight of assembled watch 60.4 dwt (93.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, fine scratches surrounding plate pin area; excellent dial with only some scattered fine scratches; excellent hands; outer case shows little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, button latch good; inner case shows light wear, pronounced circumferential denting around perimeter, scattered dents and dings to rear; bow pivots freely with some side-to-side play within pendant; domed glass crystal with short scratch near center.
